El fin de semana se inició la operatoria para aumentar el nivel del río Paraná, a través de las aperturas de las compuertas de las hidroeléctricas nacionales, que se extenderá hasta 16 de agosto de forma a asegurar el paso de barcazas y el comercio fluvial.
La operatoria consiste en la apertura gradual de uno de los contenedores de la represa de Itaipu y aumentar el caudal del río aguas debajo de la represa de Yacyretá. Posteriormente, ésta última abre sus compuertas para las tareas de descarga.
Con esto se permitirán las condiciones para la salida de 104 barcazas, que representa un volumen de carga de 115.000 toneladas, informó la Cancillería.
Desde inicios de julio la Cancillería paraguaya inició conversaciones con Argentina y Brasil para coordinar la maniobra y permitir el flujo comercial a través del río, afectado por una importante crisis hídrica. La coordinación entre los tres países apunta a permitir el paso de barcazas, con producción agrícola principalmente, de forma periódica.
El grupo interinstitucional nacional está integrado por representantes de los Ministerios de Obras Públicas, del Ambiente, la Marina Mercante, la Administración Nacional de Navegación y Puertos, representantes de Itaipú, de Yacyretá, de la Comisión Mixta del Río Paraná (COMIP), así como representantes de gremios de productores, armadores y capitanes, bajo la coordinación de la Cancillería Nacional.
La coordinación de la logística de carga y circulación de los convoyes se realiza en sincronización con el sector privado quien ha aportado permanentemente sus datos, informaciones y requerimientos.
