Luego de haber culminado el proceso de clases prácticas, unos 52 médicos no intensivistas se encuentran preparados para acompañar a los profesionales de UTI en los diversos servicios hospitalarios del país.
La formación constante de profesionales del área de la salud es un requisito fundamental para la optimización de los servicios brindados a la ciudadanía que demanda una atención de calidad y de primer nivel.
En ese sentido, el Ministerio de Salud informó que 52 médicos no intensivistas ya se encuentran listos para incorporarse al cuerpo de profesionales intensivistas para acompañarlos y ser un soporte en la difícil tarea de cuidar a pacientes críticos que se encuentran en UTI.
Los profesionales médicos fueron instruidos en el marco del plan de respuesta nacional al COVID-19 a través del Instituto Nacional de Salud y el Programa Nacional de Becas de Posgrado en el Exterior “Don Carlos Antonio López”.
La capacidad instalada en profesionales del ámbito de la salud no especializados en el área de terapia intensiva es la adquisición de habilidades, conocimientos básicos y competencias en terapia intensiva, y la evaluación y manejo inicial de pacientes críticamente enfermos.
Las prácticas se realizan en el Instituto Nacional de Salud, donde se encuentran los salones de práctica con todas las herramientas necesarias que el personal necesita para culminar el proceso de formación.
Para ello, deben pasar por 6 estaciones, tales como: colocación correcta de equipos de protección individual, como intubar y manejar a un paciente en terapia intensiva, reanimación cardiovascular, complicaciones de pacientes (paro o shock cardiorrespiratorio), utilización correcta de respiradores.
“Las clases prácticas constan de 6 estaciones, es decir 6 lugares por donde tienen que pasar los alumnos durante 12 horas de capacitación práctica para poder ir completando sus procesos de competencias o de formación porque todo lo aprendido en la parte teórica, lo deben aplicar en lo práctico, por ese motivo readecuando la sala de simulación con muñecos maniquíes que cuentan con software que desarrollan distintos eventos de un paciente crítico”, explicó el director de la Dirección Formativa del INS, Dr. César González.
Los médicos capacitados, están divididos a su vez en pequeños grupos de 5, atendiendo la necesidad de cuidar los protocolos sanitarios y cumplir estrictamente los requerimientos de formación profesional. Igual procedimiento, se realizará con el personal de enfermería que hasta el momento son 958 los que están en calidad de pasar a la etapa final.
En total, serán unos 272 médicos que estarán listos a finales de agosto para acompañar a los terapistas en sus respectivas labores, especialmente para la atención de pacientes con COVID-19.
